“It wasn’t because I was physically tired, but that I am tired of giving in.”
Rosa Parks
Hi. I’m Jami and I’m so glad you are here.
As a survivor of abuse and neglect, Healthy Human Happy Life is designed to help bring awareness to your physical, emotional, & mental health. The goal of this site is to…
- provide healthy food alternatives that will bring vitality to your body restoring damage done by chronic stress and abuse,
- provide suggestions for lifestyle changes that will increase your ability to handle the emotional ups and down that come with an autoimmune diagnosis,
- and share information that I have learned over the years regarding abusive, toxic, or unhealthy relationships.
Our Motto:
SEE. BE. Rise.
SEE truth. BE present. RISE from the ashes.
Autoimmune Disease
After a diagnosis of Celiacs and Hashimoto’s, autoimmune diseases, I began researching causes and solutions for healing and recovery. The overwhelm of information was mind-boggling but that started my journey toward a healthier lifestyle. Over these past few years, I have discovered a few simple tips and tricks for a semi-symptom free life.
Abuse
Along the way, I discovered the connection between autoimmune diseases and chronic abuse, this discovery has led me to my passion of teaching others the truth about toxic relationships.
Like most of you, I was exposed to different types of unhealthy, toxic, and abusive relationships. I witnessed many of these dynamics during my formative years. Because this was “MY normal,” oftentimes in my adult life, I experienced relational difficulties when I knew things were “off” but couldn’t quite put my finger on what was actually wrong.
Oftentimes we take the blame for most of our dysfunctional relationships and try everything we know to work on self. Does this sound familiar to you?
After years in therapy, changing my diet (drastically), buying every online “healing” program out there (well, not every one, but lots), reading tons of self-help books, and some days, just trying to keep it all together without checking myself into a hospital, I now realize the importance of seeing toxic red flags, setting healthy boundaries, and healing from our traumas. While this has been one of the most difficult things in my life to process, I am grateful for seeing truth. Ultimately, our journey guides us toward maturity, growth, and change.
Today I am happier and healthier in all areas of my life and I am so very grateful to be where I am in my journey. I cannot wait to share with you all the things I have learned.
Healthy vs. Unhealthy
I am super nerdy when it comes to helping others find healthy solutions for unhealthy things, especially with nutrition. I can get a little psycho (no really, just ask anyone who knows me) about what I put in and on my body. These days I do my very best to eat clean and ALWAYS gluten free, and I am VERY careful about what products I use in my home and for my daily regimen like make-ups, lotions, etc. Check out the blogs for more info…
Be you.
Stop “giving in.”
Fight for yourself.
“I am here to help you learn about toxic foods, toxic relationships, and toxic emotions that destroy your health and your journey to the true you.”
